Ateshgah (Fire Temple): The temple complex located in Surakhani suburbs served as a Hindu and Sikh and Zoroastrian religious site. The Persian word "Atash" means fire and the temple's main altar stands above a natural gas vent which used to burn continuously.
Yanardag (Burning Mountain): This natural attraction exists only 25 minutes away from Baku but you must drive to reach it. A constant unextinguishable fire burns from the hillside because the sandstone material has developed a thin layer that allows flames to escape. The natural display creates a captivating experience which proves the region has extensive natural gas resources.
Afternoon:
In the afternoon, visit the Ganjlik Mall. It is one of the largest shopping mall of Baku. Itโs a great place where all the tourists find the international brands, enjoy various cuisines at food courts, or just catch a movie at the cinema hall.
Day 5: Qobustan Tour โ Ancient Petroglyphs & Modern Shopping
You will travel to a distance of 60 kilometers which extends to the southwest of Baku to reach another UNESCO World Heritage site which exists in Azerbaijan.
The Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape reserve contains more than 6000 ancient rock carvings through which visitors can explore petroglyphs that date from 5000 to 20000 years ago. The rock engravings show people who engaged in activities such as hunting dancing and fighting battles and using boats which enables scientists to understand how prehistoric people lived in the Caucasus region.
Afternoon:
